What is looks like finished!!
1. Read the paragraph. Since the students already know the structure is description, as them for evidence that it is description (many details or adjectives about a topic).
2. Identify the topic.
3. Reread the paragraph with students. Model underlining each new detail in a different colored pencil. See example on previous page.
4. Cut the template around the perimeter and write the topic “Labrador Retrievers” in the center. Each petal should fold inward.
5. Write one detail on each petal. Outline the petal with the same color as each detail is underlined to help students see the connection between the paragraph and the information.
