Author's Purpose
Students first completed the Journal Writing for today and then shared their answers. We connected this to the tradition of Snake Catching in Vietnam and the story, 'Le Mat Village Holds on to Snake Catching Tradition', in their literature books, p. 139. After reading the story aloud and me modeling for them how to use supporting details to identify the Author's Purpose, the students completed the assignment below.
